PU Successfully Organised the National Healthcare Skills Conclave & EM Gujarat 2025, Inaugurated by Shri Rushikesh Patel, Hon’ble Health Minister of Gujarat

The Faculty of Medicine at Parul University successfully organised the National Healthcare Skills Conclave & Emergency Medicine Gujarat 2025 under the theme “One Nation, One Response: Pre-hospital care and life-saving skills.” This event is one of the largest of its kind in the country, attracting over 2,000 participants, more than 25 national experts, and a wide array of specialised skill workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions, and competitions aimed at advancing healthcare training and skills. The inaugural session featured a distinguished opening address by Shri Rushikesh Patel, the Honourable Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Higher and Technical Education, Medical Education, Law and Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Gujarat.

As the Chief Guest, Shri Patel emphasised the critical need for enhancing pre-hospital care and life-saving skills, especially at the grassroots level. His speech highlighted the importance of collaboration between healthcare professionals, educational institutions, and government bodies to improve the country’s healthcare infrastructure. He also lauded Parul University for spearheading such a large-scale initiative that not only brought together renowned national experts but also provided a platform for the exchange of knowledge and innovation in healthcare practices. Furthermore, Shri Patel commended the university’s healthcare infrastructure, like ‘Pragya’: the Advanced Skill and Simulation Centre, and appreciated the university’s efforts in promoting prominent healthcare startups. During his visit to Pragya, he also inaugurated the state-of-the-art Pragya Ambulance Simulation Unit, marking a significant step forward in strengthening the pre-hospital care and emergency response systems. The unit aims to bridge the gap between the occurrence of an emergency and the provision of definitive care, and it facilitates multiple training programs focusing on managing various emergencies.

Gracing the event at the university, Shri Rushikesh Patel shared his thoughts: “As ‘Naya Bharat’ strides ahead, innovation and healthcare are at the forefront of progress. In today’s 21st century, the age of knowledge and innovation, India is no longer just adopting technologies from the West; under the visionary leadership of our Prime Minister, we are exporting innovation and advancing as a Viksit Bharat. Events like the National Healthcare Skills Conclave are pivotal in addressing critical aspects of emergency care, where every platinum minute matters. I applaud PU for creating a platform to train skilled professionals who will bridge gaps in healthcare delivery and elevate India’s medical landscape to global excellence.”

The event also marked the inauguration of the Parul Vision & Laser Centre—the university’s premier facility for vision correction and comprehensive eye health services—by the hands of the Hon’ble Health Minister of Gujarat, Shri Rushikesh Patel. Additionally, he visited Parul Sevashram Hospital, the university’s state-of-the-art hospital facility equipped with 800 beds, dedicated to providing comprehensive medical care to the community.

Speaking about the event, Dr. Geetika Patel, Medical Director and Vice President of Parul University, said, “There is a critical gap between what we know and what we can do. Initiatives like the National Healthcare Skills Conclave are bridging this divide by equipping our health science students with vital life-saving skills. With state-of-the-art facilities like Pragya—our advanced skill and simulation centre—we are training over 10,000 students annually from across India, empowering them to become skilled emergency responders and future leaders in healthcare.” She also emphasised the importance of building robust healthcare systems through education and collaboration, sharing her insights on how initiatives like the National Healthcare Skills Conclave play a pivotal role in shaping the future of India’s healthcare workforce.
