Though Parul University Goa opened its doors in 2025 as the State's First Private University, inaugurated by Honourable Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, its legacy began over three decades ago in Vadodara, Gujarat. About Parul University Goa
Everything you need to know.
Goa never really had a State Private University until PU Goa arrived in 2025. The whole setup happened because of a law called the Goa Private Universities Act, which the state had passed way back in 2020. This campus is located near the ONGC Betul area in South Goa. Backed by the Parul Education Foundation, this university is driven by over 20+ years of academic excellence & "Only Merit" policies!
In 2025, the Goa Government officially granted Parul University Goa. Dr. Pramod Sawant, who is the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Goa, came personally for the inauguration and visited the campus!
They are two completely different universities. PU Goa has its own identity as a Goa state institution under the Goa Private Universities Act 2020. Parul University Vadodara holds a 20-year-old academic legacy, and both are backed by the same foundation. Common facts are faculty benchmarks, a twenty-year-old industry network, research culture, and global tie-ups because Parul Education Foundation is behind both. But operationally, they both are run separately.
