Transport Manager
We are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our university's transportation services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our fleet of vehicles operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory standards while providing reliable service to students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fleet Management: Oversee the maintenance and scheduling of the university’s vehicle fleet to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Route Planning: Develop and implement efficient route plans to meet the transportation needs of the campus community.
- Team Supervision: Manage and supervise drivers and support staff, ensuring compliance with university policies and safety protocols.
- Budget and Cost Control: Monitor expenses, optimize resource allocation, and implement cost-effective transportation solutions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze transportation data to identify areas for improvement and enhance service delivery.
- Coordination: Collaborate with other departments to support campus events and operational requirements.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records and prepare regular reports on fleet status, maintenance, and incident management.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in transport management, preferably in an educational or institutional setting.
- Strong understanding of fleet management, route planning, and vehicle maintenance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in managing budgets and using data-driven decision-making.
Desirable Attributes:
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.
- Experience working in an academic or institutional environment.
- A proactive approach to learning and implementing new technologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented setting.
